Mark has been involved in horses from the moment he could
walk. From an early age he was competing and winning many riding events. The
lure of the racetrack was inevitable and at the tender age of 15 years he
started riding in competitive races. Winners soon followed and during a
successful career he rode winners for two champion trainers; the legendary
Fred Winter and Ireland's Arthur Moore.
He spent 12 years with leading trainers in England and Ireland and with his
riding experience behind him, it was soon a training career that beckoned.
Instant success followed with Mark's first Cheltenham Festival runner
resulting in a win for Smart Tar in the prestigious Mildmay Of Flete
,stamping himself as one of the country's top chasers.
Other top class wins followed, most notably Andrew's First who won the valuable '100 Pipers' Handicap Hurdle at the Liverpool Festival meeting. Andrew's First was bought by Mark for £7,800 and looked destined for stardom until incurring a bad injury that curtailed his career.
With these successes behind him Mark is constantly looking for new owners and expand the quality and numbers in his care. Owners can feel safe in the knowledge that they are always well informed on the health, progress and prospects of their horses.
